Every journey is part of a bigger story, and every trip has the potential to transform you in ways you never expected. My journey into the world of travel began back in 2016 when I moved from Dallas to London for graduate school. I didn’t know anyone, and it was a challenge, but it became one of the most transformative experiences of my life.
Living abroad, I started solo traveling and connecting with people around the world. That’s when I realized travel isn’t just about seeing new places, it’s about personal growth, community and connecting.

The Timeline
Moving across the world in my early twenties for two years wasn’t something that seemed in the cards, but it turned out to be one of the biggest blessings. I was up late one night and after applying to San Francisco State's graduate program and, I randomly decided to apply to the University of London. After wrapping up our last exam of the semester, we celebrated with a much-needed trip to a pub just down the street.
Our little group was a beautiful mix of backgrounds from Polish, American, British, Norwegian, and Greek, brought together by the shared experience of studying at the University of London.
Earning my master’s abroad wasn’t just an academic milestone; it unknowingly sparked my entrepreneurial journey.
Sept 2016 - The Experience
The following year, after finishing graduate school and traveling to over 20 countries, mostly solo, I unknowingly began laying the foundation for the business.
What started as a personal blog for friends and family turned into something bigger when women from around the world began reaching out, inspired by my travels and eager to do the same. Along the way, I made connections in cities like Sydney, Stockholm, and Rome, and the idea of creating something meaningful started to take shape.
I got back to the US, and bought a pink notebook and starting bringing my vision to life. Countless hours were spent learning, planning, and building a business that would empower women to explore the world confidently. That’s when everything began coming together. But, the trips that were being put out weren't getting attention, so I had to go back to the drawing board. It took a lot of time but determined to put out quality experiences, it needed to happen. It was stressful, but giving up wasn't an option.
July 2018 - The Idea
A few months later, TLA truly began to take shape with the first group trip to the Amalfi Coast. It was a small group, just three of us, including my cousin, whose support meant everything. We bonded on the very first night over red wine and shared fears about solo travel.
Watching the confidence grow in my guests as they opened up was priceless, and their belief in my vision made it all feel real. The next trip to Bali was even bigger, and the outpouring of support online had me thrilled to plan more adventures.
Everything was lining up perfectly... until...
March 2019 - The Launch
Then 2020 came and the world turned upside down. The travel and hospitality industry, the very foundation of TLA, came to a grinding halt. No one was traveling. Trips had to be canceled, and uncertainty loomed for everyone, especially small business owners. After pouring so much heart and effort into TLA, it was devastating to watch it stall so soon after starting. Honestly, who would have blamed me if I decided to close the doors permanently?
But in that moment of doubt, a sense of peace came over me, as if God was reminding me that this wasn’t the end, that it was just a pause. That assurance gave me the strength to keep going. During the downtime, TLA pivoted and prepared for the day borders would reopen. And when they did, we were ready.
February 2020 - The Unexpected
By 2021, bookings were pouring in like crazy, almost overnight! It felt surreal. Then in 2022, I found myself constantly on the move, hosting tours across the globe. From Dubai to Morocco, Greece to Italy, and then to Tanzania, Bali, and beyond. It was exhilarating, but also exhausting. That’s when I realized I needed extra hands, someone/people who could be “me” on the ground. This would require training and experience.
It was during this intense time that God truly showed up and brought partners in my life to assist me. When things seemed overwhelming and I felt the weight of it all, He saw my tears, my stress, and handled it all. Through everything, my passion for TLA only grew stronger. I learned to trust the process, to not worry about the "how," and to believe that everything would be okay. Even when challenges knocked me down, I always got back up.
May 2022 - The Come Back
The journey of The Ladies Abroad has been incredible and far beyond what I could have ever imagined. Over the years, we’ve had the honor of hosting more than 300 women on both group and private trips. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many of you, whether it was during trips I personally hosted or even just crossing paths in Dallas.
After 5-6 years of growth and transformation, I decided it was time to rebrand to Stories Untold. The new name embodies the journey and growth we’ve experienced from 2018 until now, and the deeper meaning behind the travel experiences we offer.
Although I’ve stepped back from hosting trips myself, I still know every name of those who travel with us, and I make sure to read your stories. For me, this is so much more than just bookings, it’s a shared journey. Thank you for being part of it and for continuing to make this adventure so special!
